About Us

Sunnyside Orphanage Home (SOH) is a non-profit organization that helps vulnerable children whom include among them; orphans, abandoned babies and street children in and around Pretoria.

The Organization was established with the aim of providing a descent home for orphans whose extended families are unable or unwilling to take care of them.

Children are a blessing from God, but so many parents have with or without intension  neglected their children for various reasons. In simple terms violating those children’s rights. However children are passions of love, who need to be loved, taken care of and guided. It’s a shame to have abandoned babies. This is a common practice in the outskirts of the city of Pretoria.

Most of the time, when a child is orphaned, his/her extended family step in to care for them, unfortunately not all children are as privalleged.

Sunnyside Orphanage Home (SOH) is based in Sunnyside, Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa operating since May 2012, individuals from vulnerable communities whom their extended families can't provide a home away from home, in cases where poverty is extremely high and the cost of living outweighs the means of the family Sunnyside Orphanage Home lands a helping hand by providing a warm home for children between the ages of 3-12 years as a safe haven during the time the family faces an overwhelming challenge.

Sunnyside Orphanage Home has developed a strong and reliable community link during delivery of community based services in and around our area, Sunnyside Orphanage home observed challenges faced within the community thus responded by opening a safe haven for the sexually abused, impregnated pre-teens and those facing human rights violation, we are also involved in a developed broad community based HIV/AIDS and life skills programmes.

The home cares for 18 vulnerable children who include; orphans, abandoned babies and street children. They are both girls and boys whose ages range from 3 – 12 years old.

It’s from this background that SOH was established to provide a home for homeless orphans and abandoned babies and together with the community, well-wishers, we hope the lives of disadvantaged children can be improved.

We request and urge our team, our mentors, our supporters, our community and those who get out of their way to invest in the wellbeing of our children to help us leave a blueprint of this plan. This is beyond text; this is life and its a commitment.
